Samsung 840 with 250GB – The benchmark

Samsung convince with a new SSD series. The name is Samsung 840 (find it here).
Supportnet could test the 250 GB version and came to a surprising conclusion. All facts and figures are available here.

 

Introduction

After the successful 830 Series Samsung sends the Samsung 840 in the race. At first the important details do not seem to be much better than the 830. The reading speed is up to 540 MB / s and writing speeds up to 250MB / s. However, IOPS seems to be the new important values for a SSD as we saw by the OCZ Vertex 4 already. By reading there are 96,000 IOPS and 62,000 when the SSD is writing.

In the deliver content of the SSD we can found the Magican Software and Data Migration Software. In addition, who buys this model will receive a 3-year warranty from Samsung.

The Conclusion

The manufacturer showed us with the Samsung 840 series once again, that they can be at the forefront of our tests. Only the 840 Pro is still faster.
It’s amazing how Samsung dominates the market with its products. So now it’s not just smartphones anymore. Now Samsung is dominating the SSD market to.
