In this article we tested different kind of Solid State Drives and put them in a comparison for you. In this constantly updated articles you will find a comparison of the current models.
The SSD benchmark comparison
Choosing the right flash drive in addition to the capacity and the price mainly contains on the speed of it. For this reason, we have tested the speed of current models of various manufacturers and are going to provide you in this article the benchmark values of the best models.
The summary of the SSD benchmark
The AS SSD total score combines several tests with each other. We didn’t measure the reading speed. We also had a look at the writing speed and the access time of each SSD. The AS SSD assigns individual points and adds them together, to give us a meaningful value at the end. Here you can see a bar chart for a better comparison.
Crystal Disk Mark
One of the really important things of a SSD is the reading speed. Especially if you want your system to open programs quickly or to boot quickly, these values are particularly very important. Here are the results of the reading speed test in the comparison for you.
The ATTO benchmark is often used by the manufacturers in tests for they’re SSD, because it shows us the best theoretical value of the active hardware constellation. If you can achieve that values in your daily usage is another question. For a complete benchmark comparison, here are the ATTO values.
AS SSD Kopier-Benchmark
Finally, we are going to show you the summary of the comparison of a copy benchmark. This test got a practical orientation. It showes you how the SSD is working in daily usage. For this test an ISO file is copied on the drive.
The SSD benchmark Fazit
As you can see from the comparison tables the flash drives got different values in various tests. It is very difficult to get a winner if you also take the individual test results and compare them with an other test.
But if you join the results of the ltests together you will cleary see a winner.
With the Crucial M4 128GB, Samsung 830 Series 128 GB, Kingston HyperX 240GB and the Intel 520 Series 240 GB, which are playing with they’r size and they’r price in a different league, you can’t make nothing wrong. But if you take only one test, for example the ATTO test it looks alittle different. Here the 120 GB SSD from Corsair is in the top.
Currently, if you look at the total score, however the OCZ Vertex 4 wins the race.
