Kingston NOW 300 V 120GB Benchmark – The results

Standard

Just arrived in the Explipedia-Headquarter. The team has tested the new Kingston 300 V in the 120 GB variant. We will show you below if they have more power than the 200 V versions and maybe even more than the 200 V+ versions.

Introduction

The 200V and the 200 V+ which are the predecessors of the 300 V attended in Kingston. They were or are not top of the range, but could achieve good results despite the low entry price. For this reason it is particular interesting to see if the 300 V across the values of the 200 series or may top it. Most users of SSDs do not need the high-end products, they don‘t realize in the daily usage all the difference of a 300 V to a highend SSD like a Hyper X or just one of the V series.

The details of the Kingston NOW 300 V

Our testimonial from Kingston was a SSD Upgrade Kit. The delivery content was:

According to the manufacturer and packaging to the Kingston, the SSD can provide a read and write speed of 450 MB. If  this is true we will clarify in the SSD test below.

The Conclusion

As expected this SSD can not exactly deliver what was promised by Kingston. Without prolems the SSD can achieve the reading speed, only the writing values can not come close to the required level. The manufacturer values are mostly wrong because they were made under optimal conditions. In the Atto test the values are the same as from Kingston. But we always want to know how a Solid State Drive is operating in normal user conditions.

Online you can get the drive for 85-130 euros. Everything under 100 euros is ok for this SSD. In competition with an old HDD the SSD is ofcourse even for that price a rocket, but it can’t be compared to the speed of a Hyper X model from the same manufacturer.
