Kingston HyperX 240GB Benchmark

Standard

In this test we got the Kingston HyperX-SSD with 240GB (find it here).
We are testing this SSD with different Benchmark-Tools to see what you will get, if you would buy this piece of hardware.
Have a look in our  performance charts below to get an impression.

Introduction of the Kingston HyperX 240GB

The new Kingston HyperX SSD (2,5“ inch) is a very fast and powerful SSD in two variants – with 120GB and 240GB. The SSD is reading data with 555MBps and writing data with 510 MBps. This SSD can be really called as flagship. There are momentanly not very much SSD’s in the consumer-market which got a higher performance than this one.

With this fast writing and reading speed the solid-state-drive is perfect for users, with the ambition to use the storage for videoediting, photoediting or gaming and is perfectly qualified for users who needs it very fast.

In the stores you can get the hardware with a 3,5 inch chassis, so that it is no problem to set it up in a tower pc for example.

Test method

To give you a clue of the SSD-power we did our test with different kind of tools.

The Conclusion

The benchmark tools demonstrate it – The new Kingston HyperX SSD240 is one of the fastest SSDs on the market. The very fast writing and reading speed makes it a perfect tool for everyone who needs a fast hardware for professional usage. Indeed the promised speed of 500Mbps can not be met. In our test we got a value of 300 Mbps, but the Kingston HyperX240 is still much faster than the OCZ-flagship Vertex 3 which is working with the same controller, the Sandforce-Controller. With the 240GB of storage space it is a really performance-monster.
