Kingston HyperX 120GB in our Benchmark

Standard

This time we are testing the Kingston HyperX SSD with 120GB  from Kingston with different Benchmark-Tools.

You can find the results on this page in our performance charts.

Introduction

You can get the Kingston HyperX SSD (2,5“) in two variants – with 120GB and 240GB (can be found here).
The Kingston SSD-Series is a very powerful SSD. It got 555MBps as read speed and 510 MBps as writing speed. The people from Kingston call it flagship, so it is an additional reason for us to have a look at it.

With this fast writing and reading speed the solid-state-drive is perfect for users, with the ambition to use the storage for videoediting, photoediting or gaming and is perfectly qualified for users who needs it very fast.

The SSD will be delivered with a 3,5“ chassis, so that is no problem to set it up in a tower PC.

The Conclusion

The benchmark tools demonstrate it  – The new Kingston HyperX SSD120 is one of the fastest SSDs on the market. The very fast writing and reading speed makes it a perfect tool for every one who needs a fast hardware for professional usage. Indeed the promised speed of 500Mbps can not be met, in our test we got a value of 300 Mbps, but the Kingston HyperX120 is still much faster than the OCZ-flagship Vertex 3 which is working with the same controller, the Sandforce-Controller.
