In this article we will show you what you will get if you would buy the new Intel 510 Series with 250GB.

Introduction

You can buy the new 510 Series from Intel in two variants (can find it here). The 120GB version and the 250GB version. The reading- and writing speed of the 510 Series are 500MBps and 315MBps. Additional the SSD is working with 20.000 IOPS / 8000 IOPS. Reason enough for us to check this SSD very closely.
The Intel SSD’s are 2.5-inch SSD drives and got a weight of 80g. Additional it will be also shipped with a 3.5-inch mounting frame, which can be used to mount the SSD in a Tower PC for example. The highest performance can be reached with this SSD, when it is connected with a SATA III 6Gb/s port, but of course it is downward compatible.

The Conclusion

The new Intel 510 Series 250 GB SSD settles in the tip region of the currently available SSDs. With read speed of nearly 500 MBps, this storage don’t needs to hide from anything. What we like especially is the fact that the measured data are very close to the factory specifications.
